Monday, December 12, nationally acclaimed playwright Carey Perloff will be featured in the Kansas City Repertory ORIGINKC Monday Night Playwright Series, with a reading of her new play THE FIT.
Directed by Casey Stangl, the reading is part of KC Rep’s ongoing commitment to forwarding Kansas City as a major national center for the development and production of new works.
“There’s something incredible about experiencing the bare bones of a play – just actors and text. I love welcoming audiences to engage with early drafts of scripts, listening to the text come alive, and giving feedback in our post-reading conversations”, said Marissa Wolf, Director of New Works for KC Rep.
“It’s been a longstanding dream to make a home at the Rep for top playwrights across the country,” added Eric Rosen, Artistic Director.
Held at the Spencer Theatre donor lounge (4949 Cherry St, Kansas City, MO), the event is free and open to the public. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by visiting kcrep.com/new-works- 2016
The Monday Night Playwright Series will continue February 6th and March 13th, with schedule TBA.
The 2017 ORIGINKC New Works Festival Weekend of reading, panels, and parties is May 12-14, 2017 and is open to the public.
