Running June 20th – July 8th, the production features Parry Luellen, Kyra Weinberger, Chelsea Anglemyer, Elroy Hawkins, and Zeke Blockage.
Based on Aesop’s famous fable, THE GREAT FOURTH OF JULY RACE is, according to the press release, a “high-stepping ragtime musical comedy which brings together a sensitive skunk, a spaced out butterfly, a musical raccoon, an oratorical tortoise and a smarty pants hare for a forest Fourth of July complete with fireworks, patriotic songs, a magic love potion and a frantic farcical race. It’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream meets Aesop’s Fables in a turn of the century forest full of singing and dancing animals.”
Performances take place on the H&R Block City Stage, located on level B in Union Station at 30 W. Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO.
