The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced casting for AN EVENING WITH GEORGE GERSHWIN, its third main stage production of the 2017 season.
Directed by Artistic Director Sarah Crawford, the production will feature Lauren Braton, Jacob Aaron Cullum, Molly Hammer, and Justin McCoy.
An original revue conceived, written and hosted by MTH founder George Harter, with original arrangements and music direction by Brad Cox, AN EVENING WITH GEORGE GERSHWIN will also feature Peoples Liberation Big Band, founded and led by Cox.
According to the press release, this original revue, produced by special arrangement with the Estate of George and Ira Gershwin, will highlight the life and music of one of the most prolific and influential American composers of the 20th Century. Known not only for popular songs for stage and screen but classical works for the concert hall as well, Gershwin redefined The Great American Songbook.
AN EVENING WITH GEORGE GERSHWIN will feature the songs Embraceable You, I Got Rhythm, Swanee, Rhapsody in Blue, and many more, all accompanied by a traditional American Big Band. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit mthkc.com.
