Quality Hill Playhouse has announced the cast for I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU, the first show in a season which will explore what catapults a piece of music from being merely a song to a standard in the Great American Songbook.
The cabaret revue features Victoria Botero, Christina Burton, and Tim Noland, backed by J. Kent Barnhart on piano, Ken Remmert on drums, and Brian Wilson on bass. Producing Artistic Director and Playhouse Founder Barnhart arranged the show and will also serve as emcee, providing historical anecdotes and trivia.
I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU features more than two dozen songs from the Great White Way, and explores how Broadway and American popular music have intertwined. Featuring standards like “Someone To Watch Over Me” and “Send In The Clowns” to “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU will look at the songs that began on Broadway and made it into the American Songbook.
I’VE GOT A CRUSH ON YOU runs September 29 – October 29 at Quality Hill Playhouse, 303 W. 10th Street, Kansas City, MO. Single tickets are $38, with discounts for students, seniors, and groups.
