After a decade with Unicorn Theatre, Managing Director Jason Kralicek is stepping down this spring and Janann B. Eldredge will step into the new role of Business Manager.
Kralicek, who joined the Unicorn in 2008, voiced his gratitude and thanks to Producing Artistic Director Cynthia Levin, the Unicorn Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, and patrons while announcing his resignation. “I’m tremendously proud of the work Unicorn Theatre presents and the amazing things the Unicorn Team has accomplished during my tenure.” Kralicek said. “I’m divided between moments of grief at leaving my family at the Unicorn and pure excitement at the opportunities waiting.”
Since joining Unicorn Theatre in March 2008, Kralicek has contributed to the achievement of many of the theatre’s strategic goals, including steering it through the difficult process of changing a local alcohol ordinance to allow nonprofit performing arts organizations a path to legal alcohol sales, and the debt-free purchase of the 3828 Main building that has been the theater’s home for the past 31 years.
Unicorn Board President Dr. Winnie Dunn said “The community knows that Unicorn Theatre is brimming with heart, soul, creativity, and integrity. What we know from the inside is that Jason Kralicek’s heart, soul, creativity, and integrity have also made us fiscally sound as we plan for our 50th anniversary!”
Kralicek will stay on with the Unicorn through the end of March.
