The Barn Players has announced the establishment of “Best Seats in The Barn” honoring Barn Board President Vida Bikales.
According to the press release, on the opening night of each 2018 production “Best Seats in the Barn” will honor one person who has contributed to the vibrancy of the Kansas City arts community (and their guest) with designated best house seats, and an introduction of thanks during the pre-show. The recipient will also receive a $50 gift card from The Jacobson Restaurant in The Crossroads.
The 2018 local arts leaders being honored by The Barn Players are Dana Knapp, a non-profit veteran currently helming ArtsKC and the Regional Arts Council, Carrie Lenahan Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s Manager of Individual Giving and an avid volunteer throughout the local theater community, Leigh Lynch Executive Director of Arts in Prison, Inc. an organization focused on helping Kansas inmates prove that they are much more than their transgressions, Betsy Sexton an arts educator for over 30 years who has been involved with the Barn Players since the early 1980’s, along with numerous other Kansas City community theater’s, and Nancy Wallerstein a volunteer who currently works with the Growing Futures Early Education Center, the Johnson County Park & Recreation Board of Commissioners, Johnson County Museum, Shawnee Indian Mission Foundation, and the Barn Players among others.
