Starlight Theatre has announced they will extend the Vincent Legacy Scholarship deadline to April 2nd, 2018.
Founded in 2006, the Vincent Legacy Scholarship offers ethnically diverse students in grades 6, 7 or 8 $2,500 to put towards vocal and/or acting training.
Local community leaders Greg and Rebecca Reid created the scholarship to provide youth who demonstrate performing arts promise, strong academic achievement and good citizenship the opportunity to further refine and improve their creative skills through professional instruction. To date, 32 scholarships with a total value of $77,500 have been awarded.
In addition to meeting ethnic and financial criteria, students must show a passion for the performing arts, maintain an academic achievement level equal or greater than a “B” (3.0) grade level, attend school regularly with no unexcused absences, and demonstrate an interest in community service.
All applications received by the April 2nd deadline will be reviewed, and a limited number of finalists will be invited to audition at Starlight on April 22.
Two or more scholarships will be awarded in May.
