Quality Hill Playhouse has announced the cast for its upcoming production of BILLBOARD BLOCKBUSTERS, the company’s latest cabaret revue celebrating the most popular of popular music.
The production features Samantha Agron, Christina Burton, Tim Noland and Robert Erik Sobbe, with J. Kent Barnhart at the piano. Sam Copeland makes his Quality Hill Playhouse debut on bass, and Ken Remmert returns behind the drums. The production is conceived and directed by Producing Artistic Director J. Kent Barnhart.
From the press release: “Only the best of the best make the cut in this production: all songs were Number 1 hits on the Billboard charts. Billboard magazine, founded in 1894, published its first song ranking list in 1936. This production starts in 1937 with the swing favorite “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Audiences will be taken on a journey through more than three decades of chart-toppers, ending with hits from 1970 by Simon and Garfunkel (“Bridge Over Troubled Water”) and The Carpenters (“Close to You”). Songs from the years in between include “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Candy,” “Tennessee Waltz,” “Rock Around the Clock,” “Catch a Falling Star,” “Yesterday,” “Downtown,” and “Monday, Monday.”
BILLBOARD BLOCKBUSTERS runs April 20th – May 20th at Quality Hill Playhouse, 303 W. 10th Street, Kansas City, MO. For more information visit QualityHillPlayhouse.com.
