Confluence Theatre Company, a new theater company, founded by Kansas City artists Logan Black and Lindsey Adams, has announced the cast and partial design team for its inaugural production of William Shakespeare’s MEASURE FOR MEASURE.
Directed by Black and Adams, the production features the B. Michael McFarland, Ellen Kirk, Logan Black, Megan Sells, Jay D. Love, R. H. Wilhoit, Frank Lillig, Bethany Elliot, Lydia Miller, Alisa Lynn, and Chas Coffman. With sound Design by Wallace Mccanless.
From the press release: “This isn’t ‘just Shakespeare.’ This is a play about right now tackling toxic masculinity, the imbalance and abuse of power, and governmental corruption. MEASURE FOR MEASURE addressed the issues of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement centuries before they began. This production isn’t set in the past but in our present. With Shakespeare’s text front and center, this interactive theatrical production is scored with live music, bringing storyteller and audience together in a shared experience. No Lights Up & Down. No proscenium. No separation.”
MEASURE FOR MEASURE runs August 3rd – August 11th at Squeeze Box Theatre, 1519 Oak St, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
