The Unicorn Theatre has announced the cast and design team for the first show of its 45th season — THE EFFECT by Lucy Prebble.

Directed by Sidonie Garrett, the production features Manon Halliburton (Dr. Lorna James), Todd Lanker (Dr. Toby Sealey), Amy O’Connor (Connie Hall), and Rufus Burns (Tristan Frey).

The production team includes Tanya Brown (stage manageer), Emily Swenson (scenic and projections designer), Georgianna Londré Buchanan (costume designer), Nicole Jaja (lighting designer), David Kiehl (sound designer), Eric Palmquist (properties designer), Hannah Taylor (dramaturg), Alex Davila (projections designer), and Taylor Smith (production assistant).

“Connie and Tristan are magnetically drawn to each other. Racing hearts, sleepless nights – they’ve fallen head over heels,” reads the Unicorn’s description of the show. “But is their infatuation love or just a symptom of the new antidepressant they’re taking in a clinical trial? As two supervising doctors try to untangle the ethical quandaries of this illicit relationship, Connie and Tristan risk it all to be together. Consequences be damned.”

THE EFFECT runs September 5th – September 30th on Unicorn Theatre’s Jerome Stage located at 3828 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.  “Pay What U Can” at performances on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. For more information visit UnicornTheatre.org.
