Unicorn Theatre continues its In-Progress Play Reading Series this Sunday with a look at Rachel Lynett’s GOOD BAD PEOPLE directed by Associate Artistic Director Ian R. Crawford.

This one-night-0nly reading will feature actors Nedra Dixon, Shawna Peña-Downing, Teisha M. Bankston, Amy Attaway, and Ai Vy Bui. Stage directions will be read by Michelle Tyrene Johnson who also serves as the Dramaturg.

In GOOD BAD PEOPLE, Amiri has become another statistic, one more young black man shot by a police officer, and another family is forced into the national spotlight. June returns home to find that her mother has refused to make a statement, leaving the press to jump to their own stereotypical narrative. Should she publicly stand up for her brother’s life, or keep family matters private?

The reading of GOOD BAD PEOPLE takes place November 18 at the Unicorn Theatre, 3828 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64111. The event is free and open to the public with no reservations required, however, a donation is requested at the door.
