The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced the cast and design team for the first show of the 2019 season, BIG BANDS ARE BETTER.
The cast includes Alison Sneegas Borberg, Jon Daugharthy, Erikka Dunn, Molly Hammer, and Tom Nelson.
The ten-member Big Band is comprised of Matt Baldwin on alto saxophone, tenor saxophone and clarinet, Brad Cox on piano, Jeff Harshbarger on bass, Brett Jackson on baritone saxophone and bass clarinet, Marcus Lewis on trombone, Nate Nall on trumpet, Zak Pischnotte on alto saxophone, soprano saxophone and flute, Brian Scarborough on trombone and tuba, Rich Wheeler on tenor saxophone and C melody saxophone, and Sam Wisman on drums, percussion.
The production team includes vocal music direction by Daniel A. Doss, lighting design by Jamie Leonard, sound design by Jon Robertson, costume design by Shannon Smith-Regnier, and stage management by Lacey Willis.
The production is hosted by MTH founder George Harter.
“The aim of our production is to highlight the synergy between big band music and American Standards, and how the Big Band era evolved,” comments Associate Producer Tim Scott. “We’re excited to present tunes from the Great American Songbook accompanied by a 10-piece Big Band in our seven-row theater. It should be an exhilarating musical event.”
