Quality Hill Playhouse has announced the cast that will make up BROADWAY AND ALL THAT JAZZ: SONGBOOK OF THE 50s, an original cabaret revue opening March 8.
Hosted by J. Kent Barnhart, the production will feature Christina Burton, Joseph Carr, Valerie Fagan, and Robert Erik Sobbe.
BROADWAY AND ALL THAT JAZZ pays tribute to a variety of sound that made up the 1950’s music scene. The production will include numbers from classic Broadway musicals such as GYPSY, THE MUSIC MAN, and WEST SIDE STORY along with vocal jazz ballads (“When I Fall In Love,” “Guess Who I Saw Today”); vocalese (“Everybody’s Boppin’,” “Four Brothers”); easy, cool jazz (“Fly Me To The Moon,” “Teach Me Tonight,” “Satin Doll”); and a seldom-heard four-part vocal arrangement of Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five.”
SONGBOOK OF THE 50s runs through April 7 at Quality Hill Playhouse, 303 W. 10th Street, Kansas City, Mo. For more information visitQualityHillPlayhouse.com.
